Requirements
Install the Azure DevOps MCP extension from the VS Code Marketplace.
Configure the Azure DevOps MCP extension
Open the Extensions view in VS Code by clicking on the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar on the side of the window or by pressing Ctrl+Shift+X (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+X (Mac).
Now search for "Azure DevOps MCP" in the Extensions view search bar. Click on the extension in the search results and then click the "Install" button.
Select the Azure DevOps MCP extension in the Extensions view and click on the "Configure" button.
Then Start the configuration process by clicking on the "Start Configuration" button.
Select the models that you want to use in your project. You can choose from the available models or create a custom model.
You can check the output and see the events that are being sent to Azure DevOps. You can also check the status of the configuration process.
Now let's create a new work item in Azure DevOps. You can do this by clicking on the "Create Work Item" button in the Azure DevOps MCP extension.
See the work item creation form and fill in the required fields. You can also add additional fields and attachments as needed.
